Spoilt Mrs. Botha!

Excuse the sleepy-eyes and mussed up hair...but I just wanted to show you how lucky I am to be married to Clark:) This is quite a regular occurence in our home! This morning I heard noises in the kitchen and enticing smells wafting up the stairs and knew something good was coming:) I'm a lucky girl to be spoilt with breakfast in bed:)

Blessed Birthday!

One sun-shiny day in the little town of Uitenhage (Eastern Cape, South Africa) an angel-faced, golden-haired child was born. His mommy and daddy named him Clark Anthony Botha and he brought them much joy and pride.

Then...

the golden-haired child became the tall, dark and handsome husband that some lucky girl had been praying for all her life! and now Clark's very proud and abundantly blessed wifey wants to wish him a wonderful, wonderful birthday - which will be filled with many surprises and lots and lots of love! All I can say Clark is - Thank You Jesus! You made me wait but You are always faithful and gave me something more precious and special than I could ever have dreamed or hoped! And Clark - you are the embodiment of 1 Cor 13, especially, (for those who know me well!) "love is patient..." you are the love of my heart and life and I want to make not only today but every birthday into eternity a celebration of the special person that you are:) Blessed, happy birthday!

Happy Anniversary Pa and Ma!

The 14th of September is special for another reason - it's our folks' 34th wedding anniversary! Geluk Pa en Ma!

Here's Pa and Ma taking in a special moment at our wedding in December.

After producing a brood of four big boys!...ma finally has the pleasure of some female company...

Gardening

About a month or so ago, Clark got stuck into our tiny little garden and pulled out all the plants that were looking haggard and old. Since then, we've been intending to do some shopping for the garden and get stuck into creating our own little "oasis" at our Oasis Townhome! Yesterday afternoon, we went to Lowe's (a home improvement store) and bought a jasmine bush, and a tray of other little flowers (don't know what they are called!) for the outside garden. We also bought two little miniature palms for inside and a lovely orchid.

My very own garden-boy!

Note for Pa en Ma: All the years of Sunday gardening experiences at the Botha estate in Uitenhage (Eastern Cape) paid off - you trained him well!

This is the lovely orchid that has been given pride of place in our bedroom. Isn't it beautiful? We haven't had much luck with indoor plants but this one is going to be taken care of like a baby:)

Tennis

Oasis Townhomes has quite a few sporting facilities available to its residents - including two tennis courts. Clark has been nagging Sara to play tennis for quite a few months now and so yesterday we went to buy "his and hers" tennis rackets - Sara wanted a pink one:) and since today (Friday) is Clark's day off from work, we spent some time working up a sweat on the court!

Sara is very proud of her pink tennis racket! :) The good thing though is that it is a special edition Wilson tennis racket and when you buy one, the proceeds go towards breast cancer research - so Sara's eye for aesthetics at least contributed to a good cause!

Just posing:)

Clark practicing his serving skills. Clive - where are you?! Your brother needs a more challenging opponent!

VOP Family Reunion Concert

We have always dreamed of sitting together at LLU Church watching a Family Reunion Concert so today was a bit of a surreal experience for us! The latest VOP concert was held at LLUC this weekend and we bought tickets about 2 months ago!!! It was a great experience - only our camera ran out of battery so we only got a few photos! These are two of the better ones:)

The crowd gathering on the lawn outside the church. We couldn't believe how many people were already there when we thought we were arriving early! The concert was at 5pm and we got there around 4:15!

Sara beaming from ear to ear! with the musicians warming up in the background...and then...the camera died!
